Matthijs Spits and Herman van Rompuy

Matthijs Spits is the owner and founder of Exelcom and advises the senior management of companies and organisations on the promotion of their interests and contact with the media. He was active on the Hague circuit well before Exelcom was founded in 1992 - initially as spokesman/information officer with the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management at the time of the Delta Project and later as International Relations Advisor to the Mayor of the City of The Hague. In 1989, he moved into industry and became director of information and public relations with Joop van den Ende Producties (now Endemol) and spokesman for CEO Joop van den Ende. In 1992, he founded Exelcom and since then Matthijs has employed his extensive knowledge of politics and administration and his network in The Hague and in Europe for the benefit of his clients. His extensive personal contact with journalists and opinion formers in the radio and television industry has also proved invaluable here.

Annelies Meybaum

Annelies Meybaum is co-owner of Exelcom and has been associated with the consultancy since 1993. Annelies is a political scientist and has been involved in politics and government since the mid-1980s. She began her career in a dual role as Personal Assistant to a member of the House of Representatives in The Hague and as political party worker in the Amsterdam municipal council. She later worked in the Information and External Relations Department of the City of The Hague, focusing specifically on public relations and relationship management. During this period, she built up a network within the national and municipal political and government institutions in The Hague. Annelies’s work within Exelcom is primarily concerned with political monitoring, press and communication strategies and the organisation of special meetings and symposia.
